>9 Weeks

>
Current Mood: Pissed at the world. Cranky. B was barely able to crack a smile out of me and that is very rare.
Current Cravings: BBQ wings and chicken.
Current Aversions: Sauces. And if you know anything about me, I LOVE sauces. I cannot hardly ever eat anything without some kind of condiment sauce. I think the consistency is grossing me out and making me gag.

I am also very tired and hungry all the time. If I don't eat, I am starving, even if I ate an hour ago. I don't see a major difference in my belly this week from last week. However, I LOVE that my digital baby has ARMS, LEGS, and a NOSE! So cute!! I know that is a very general representation of what the average 9 week baby looks like but it looks like a little baby now!

I bought a bella band last week and have started to wear it with my jeans. I can still button my pants, but sitting down is very uncomfortable so it has come in handy.

This week Baby Mac is the size of a grape and it's heart has four chambers pumping loads of blood. Teeth start to form and sex organs are in place, though not distinguishable. My placenta is producing the majority of the hormones needed now to keep this baby growing big and strong.

Our love grows everyday for this little miracle and to say we are excited for this new adventure is an understatement. I can't wait until my 1st trimester is over in 4 weeks and we get to hear the heartbeat. YAY!!!

>How it all began...

>
Our wedding weekend started on the Wednesday before our Friday nuptials. We packed the car with camping gear, the dogs, and headed for Steamboat Springs. Wednesday night was very low key. We just soaked up the beautiful mountain air before the events started rolling out piece by piece.
I slept great that night and while I do not remember much of the day’s activities, I know that my nerves were starting to build in anticipation and excitement. By 4pm, most of our wedding party guests had arrived at the wedding site in the lovely botanic gardens nestled by the Yampa River. Some of our wedding party guests we had not seen in several months or even years. We both had the chance to meet some friends that lived out of state and were coming to celebrate our big day with us.
The rehearsal went great. The pastor did a great job putting everyone in their spots and letting B and me help delegate the order of events. The dinner was at the Smoke House, a very famous BBQ joint with the most amazing fall-off-the-bone ribs you will ever have. The party was a great way for everyone to meet and get to know one another.
After a beautiful speech from B’s dad, we passed out our wedding party gifts. I gave my bridesmaids bamboo plants, a symbol of friendship, and B gave his groomsmen small knives that hook onto a key chain. Everyone was pleased with our offerings, as it was the least we could do to thank them for making the weekend trip for our wedding day.
B and I said goodbye at the restaurant and did not see each other again until I was walking down the aisle. It was hard not to talk to him, but we did sneak in a few texts the day of the wedding. That night, I hardly slept and my stomach started to react to the nerves rushing through my blood. That nervousness continued the following morning. I ate whatever I could, as I did not want to be dehydrated or have low blood sugar. The last thing I wanted was to pass out at the alter! Aside from those feelings I was very calm. I wanted to remember everything I could about my wedding day. So many women have told me that their wedding day is just a big blur and I did not want that to be the case for me.
One of B’s good friends came up around 10am to do my hair. She also did my flower girl’s hair and my moms. They looked amazing! We played music, looked at pictures, did our make up,
helped each other with jewelry, and before I knew it, it was time to put my dress on. I had my MOH, Jess, help me get dressed. She had been so helpful and such a great asset and friend throughout the entire wedding planning process that I wanted that time for us to be special. In a way, she was giving me away to B and while our friendship has not wavered, it has changed and grown in a way that continues to be special.
Our photographer arrived around 1:30pm and started taking pics of all us girls getting ready and just hanging out before it was time to leave for the limo. By that time our bouquets had arrived and I could not have been happier with how they turned out! I opened a gift from B that took my breath away. It was a drawing he did with a special stencil pad that he connects to the computer and it was perfect. I gave him a John Wayne poker set I found in a small shop in Idaho Springs.
The boys left first. They boarded the limo around 2pm and that was our cue to head down to
wait for the limo to return for us. In the process, B forgot his vows that he had written and his uncle so graciously raced back to the hotel to grab them just in time. The weather had been a little cool and rainy for most of the day. I was not worried and did not even care that it was raining. I had always heard some rain on your wedding day is good luck and for that, I was not going to complain about. Once the limo arrived we all piled in and took pictures and soaked up the few moments left before it was go time.
When we arrived at the gardens, the rain had picked up a bit and my uncle walked with me and his huge umbrella
over to a hidden bench. He pulled out his cell phone and pulled up the weather radar and we watched as the sky started to open up and the sun began to shine. With only a 10 minute delay to wipe off chairs and get all the girls situated, our guests were ready to see us take a step into one of the biggest days and decisions we had ever made. My dad told me I looked beautiful as we walked down the grassy knoll, barefoot, and it was all I could do to not cry. We hugged, B and I locked eyes and that was how it stayed the entire ceremony. I did not cry until I read my vows. B’s were beautiful and at the end, we had a butterfly release. It was one of the coolest things I had ever done and by far a major wow factor for our guests. No one else had ever seen it done before. I could hear my mom gasping in amazement as each butterfly escaped the small box it was resting peacefully in.
Once the ceremony was over, we walked around the pond with our photographer for some quick pictures before heading to our limo bus with the wedding party to make it up the gondola. Our reception was at the top of the mountain and the weather had continued to be pleasant. We took several pictures with the entire wedding party, a few with just us and the MOH and best man, and lastly, several of us alone (like the one on the rock in the previous post).
Guests started to arrive around 5:30 and all of us headed into the room to greet everyone. We had lots to eat and drink. The apps were delightful and the dinner was beyond decadent. (I am getting hungry just thinking about it!) As the dinner progressed, so the did the weather and we all enjoyed a lovely lightening show that temporally shut down the gondola. After the lightening passed, a beautiful rainbow and sunset caped off the evening. We danced, laughed and cried. Our wedding day was the most amazing, beautiful day of my life and I would not change one thing.
For those of you who were at or in my wedding reading this, it is beyond words for me to thank you for your participation in our big day. It meant the world to both of us.

>Sunny Day

>
Thank you for all your prayers! B made a nice dime last night. Generous tippers! Last night at work was one of my busiest nights yet. I hardly had time to sit down and start a project I could not even finish in time. It felt great! I love being that busy and coming home, tired and ready to snuggle with B.

The weather has been amazing this week. Some thunderstorms in the afternoon cool off the 90 degree heat wave. I'm napping any chance I get. I don't feel like I am getting bigger. I know I am not yet, but sometimes, I look in the mirror and think, "Wow, there really is a baby in there!" But really, it's just the grilled cheese, tomato soup, water, and fruit bulging. Still feeling great! Hardly any nausea. Mostly tired, but that seems to be getting better. If I don't happen to take a nap, I feel fine and ready for bed by 10.

I wish I had something more interesting to write about, but things are pretty mellow around here. Still hoping and praying for some mula. Have a great weekend!!

>Oy

>What. A. Long. Week.

I wish I had something fun or interesting to write about but my brain and eyes are so tired that clean laundry has been sitting in my dryer for 2 days and I have every intention of making it 3. Dirty laundry is all over the place, along with dirty plates and dog hair and junk mail. I will have a chance to sleep in tomorrow and I am hoping those extra Zzzzs will motivate me to put the laundry away and make our place presentable.

Prayers needed. We are hanging on by a thread as far as money goes right now and B is going to try to make as much as he can at the restaurant he works at over the next few days. Please pray that people give generous tips and that we can pay our rent on time. Thank you.

That's all for now. *very heavy sigh*

>8 weeks

>
We saw this beautiful double rainbow on our drive home from Denver last night. You could see each rainbow end to end. It was incredible.

The entire weekend was amazing. I worked quite a bit last week, including Saturday, and when I got off we headed to B's dad's surprise 50th Birthday party. The party was great. There were so may family and friends and his dad was so surprised! He had no idea his fiance had planned this for him and the look on his face was priceless. Everyone who was able had an Irish Car Bomb as soon as he walked in the door and that kicked off the party. I was so tired by 9pm I just laid on the couch with my sis in law.

The next day we went to church with B's dad for Fathers Day and had lunch afterwards. We then went to pick up a beautiful antic cabinet from B's mom and there will be pics of that up here soon. We spent some more time with her at her new home. She has it all decorated and it finally feels like a home.

We spent the evening with my parents for dinner. B had a T bone, which he had been looking forward to almost more than our doctor's appointment today. Our time with my parents is always so nice. The boys started a movie and I eventually went to lay down I was so exhausted.

This morning, I woke up early, so excited for our first OB appointment and this is what we saw:

BABY MAC!!!
And the fastest little heart flickering on the screen!! We did not get to hear the heart beat, but it was clearly strong and healthy! I had an internal ultra sound and other than being uncomfortable, it went great. The doctor was great. He was so kind and easy to speak with. He answered all of our questions and eased some of my fears. The baby measured at 7w4d but my due date moved up to Feb 1st putting me at 8w2days today. Weird how that all works. Our next appointment will be in 4 weeks and that is when we will hear the heart beat. The only other great thing about today is that I do not have to work! It is beautiful outside and I plan to take a nap with the windows open here in a little while.

I will leave you with these pics I spiffed up on fotoflexor.com. Have a great Monday!

>A Rollercoaster

>I have not had a crazier week in a long time. Here is the run down:

* Monday, while I was not actually at work, we said goodbye to a resident, someone drove through the fence, and there was a tornado warning (remember, we were in babies r us).

* Tuesday, nothing much other than being super tired and eating lots.

* Wednesday, had our housewarming party with some friends. I tried to go to bed early but everyone was just way too loud.

* Thursday, I was beyond exhausted from my lack of sleep due to the party. We celebrated my brother's girlfriend's birthday at a Mexican restaurant, where I was feeling sick as a dog, and then came home to watch Marley and Me, to which I cried like a baby and made scrambled eggs. It helped to settle my tummy.

* Friday, said goodbye to another resident. Called 911 twice. Once at work, once on our drive to Denver to see B's mom for dinner. Drunk driver, we presume, as he was swerving in and out of the lanes and nearly rearended us. At dinner, drank sprite, and drove my tipsy husband home.

We came home to the Arcade Fire performing on PBS! Could my night get any better!!?! No!!

Sweet Dreams.

>Nothing But the Truth

>You are all so silly! I love seeing what you guys guessed. I think I was supposed to tell you how many true statements were there, but it just made it harder and more fun. Oh well. Here are the answers!

1) While playing a game, I pushed my brother off a dresser when he was 4 and he broke his arm.
TRUE! We were playing some kind of Sesame Street game and he was bugging me so I pushed him off the dresser. He fell and did break his arm.

2) I have never broken a bone.
TRUE! Unlike my brother, I have never broken a bone. Lets keep it that way.

3) B and I have both participated in a triathlon.
FALSE! Yeah right. Like I can run a 1/4 mile without dying...lol.

4) I learned to drive a stick shift before I graduated high school.
FALSE! I tried to, but just could not get the hang of it. I was a Sophomore in college when I finally learned.

5) B is allergic to fish, mushrooms, and milk.
TRUE and FALSE! Trick question people. Sorry. Yes, B is allergic to fish, but no on the mushrooms and milk. He just hates mushrooms and does love milk in his cereal.

6) B and I will find out what the sex of the baby is at 20 weeks.
FALSE! Not if I have anything to say about it. B wants to know, but I am dead set now on waiting.

7) Butte had puppies before we had her fixed.
FALSE! I wish. She was one of the cutest puppies ever and to see her have some would have been great.

8) I have no fear of swimming in the ocean.
TRUE! I know that might sound crazy. I LOVE swimming in the ocean. The only thing that scares me is when jellyfish are around. Nothing else bothers me.

9) My favorite color is yellow.
TRUE!

10) I have had 2 speeding tickets.
FALSE! I have not ever had one speeding ticket and I have only ever been pulled over once. I am so afraid of getting pulled over that I just don't really speed.

There you have it! Happy Friday.

Oh, PS. I have started to have NIGHT SICKNESS. No puking yet, just feeling terrible at night. YUCK!!

>Truth or Lie? You Decide!

>So I was just wondering around in blog world and came across this awesome blog here, Miss Katie, and noticed she played a fun game with her readers! I am so inspired, so please, come play along with me. You just might learn something new...

Here is how the game works: I will list several statements, some are truths, others are lies. You decide in the comments which is a truth and which is a lie. I don't have anything fun for you to win other than pride and an imaginary hug from moi. Wanna play?? K, here we go!

1) While playing a game, I pushed my brother off a dresser when he was 4 and he broke his arm.

2) I have never broken a bone.

3) B and I have both participated in a triathlon.

4) I learned to drive a stick shift before I graduated high school.

5) B is allergic to fish, mushrooms, and milk.

6) B and I will find out what the sex of the baby is at 20 weeks.

7) Butte had puppies before we had her fixed.

8) I have no fear of swimming in the ocean.

9) My favorite color is yellow.

10) I have had 2 speeding tickets.

K, take a guess! And then, if you want, play this game yourself! It is just for fun. Have a great Hump Day!

>Two Weeks

>
I know I am really not supposed to be showing yet, but look at this! I see a difference. I even waited a few hours after I ate to take the 7 week pic last night and yeah, that is what we have here folks.

I have baby brain now. Because in yesterday's post, I totally meant to tell you that with us taking the dogs to the Evet on Sunday, we had spent over $5oo dollars on the dogs last week. We took them in last week because Tulo (our problem child) had tape worms. And then Butte needed some routine blood work. And then they needed their heart guard (we got the rest of the year for both). And then Tulo also needed a heart worm test (negative). So....this is what having real children is going to be like!

That is all for now. :)

>7 Weeks and Tornados

>
Today I am 7 weeks pregnant! Only half way to being in my 2nd trimester and only one more week until our first prenatal appointment! I can't believe how fast the last two weeks have gone. It seems like yesterday my cousin H was BEGGING me to take a test, which I did, and wa-la...Baby Mac is on the way!

Last week was pretty good. I had one morning where I thought I was going to lose my breakfast. That was Thursday. The day before that I discovered some VERY light spotting. I freaked out like nobody's business and called my mom and MIL. Both of which told me that everything was fine and that it was normal. It lasted just that day and am now doing great. The eye inflammation has gone down and feeling MUCH better. Barely notice it now.

This week, Baby Mac's nubs are becoming more pronounced as little arms and legs. Eye lids are forming. Folds in the ears are forming. The brain is developing neurons and growing very quickly. Baby Mac is about the size of an olive and next week will be twice as big!

We just can't wait to see our little bean on the screen and hear the heart beat! I know I will be an emotional mess. Today we went to Babys R Us and registered for baby stuff! It was so fun and exciting! On our way there, we noticed that the sky was looking like a tornado was going to drop right on top of us. No rain or hail yet. Just lots of wind and the sky was green. We ran inside the store and within minutes it was pouring outside and our phones alerted us of the warning we were already aware of. We were worried about the dogs, but figured we were safer in the sore rather than our third floor apartment. So we just carried on with our shopping and watched as the lights flickered on and off and the hail pounded on the roof. Was I scared? Not really. We have had a tornado warning ever day for the last 2 weeks. This is starting to feel like second nature, which I am sure is not good. I hope that when we really are in true danger that we don't assume a "cry wolf" scenario. I love weather and it rarely scares me. I think it is one of the coolest things God does, even though it is tragic at times.

One more thing: I totally had a dream that MacMama was doing our maternity photo shoot last night. Now if that were true, that would be awesome!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

>The One Where Tulo Eats a Chocolate Cake

>There were many unfortunate events that happened yesterday.

It's unfortunate that I had to babysit at 5am and spend the majority of B's birthday doing just that.

It's unfortunate that B had to work on his birthday.

It's unfortunate that I made a birthday cake for B that ended up in Tulo's stomach.

It's unfortunate that we had to take both dogs to the Evet, assuming both had some chocolate cake and a toxic amount of cocoa powder in their systems, and that Butte had not in fact had one tiny taste of that cake.

It's unfortunate that Butte had to suffer just as hard as Tulo did, being injected with a serum to induce vomiting not once, but twice because the first time did not work.

It's unfortunate that the $130 I just made babysitting all day did not cover the entire cost of our trip to the Evet and that I had to spend it right away.

It's unfortunate that on B's birthday, he had to clean up Tulo's vomit at least 5 times at my parents house and that one of those times was literally projectile. Eww.

Despite all those unfortunate events, B, his mom and my brother's girlfriend were all able to celebrate their birthdays and the brownies my mom made in lu of us not having the chocolate cake that Tulo ate were really really good.

***Side Note: Tulo ate THE ENTIRE CAKE. There were 3 crumbs left. He broke the pan it was in, an awesome wedding gift I am sad to part with. He added this to his "What I have eaten resume" along with a 1/2 pound of raw meat.***

>First Baby-Related Issue

>I have had this HORRIBLE pain in my right eye since Sunday. I thought it was just my eye being tired and that I was not getting enough sleep so I tried to go to bed earlier and rest more (is that possible?!) and the pain did not only stick around, but progressively got worse. Today, I had enough. The pain was so intense I could hardly focus at work, so I made a late morning doc apt and hoped for the best.

At the appointment, my doctor could not figure out what was going on. She put drops in my eye, looked at it under a black light and did not see any superficial scratches or anything foreign lodged in there. Let me take a minute to describe this pain: it is in the corner of my right eye, under my eye lid and behind the bone. No discharge, no redness, just irritated skin from my touching it. Anyway, she sent me down to the eye doc and she was able to see some swelling and inflammation. I have something called episclorosis. That is just a big fancy word for inflammation on top of the eye ball. She gave me a very low dose steroid eye drops that is safe for me and baby. Causes? Not really sure, but the body does crazy things when changing and making room for baby. This should work out well and I should be feeling better in a day or so.

On top of all that, this was my worst morning yet. I felt like nothing sounded good to eat and was feeling quite nauseous. It did go away as the morning went on and I did eat.

Non-baby stuff??

Work is going great. B's work is going even better! God is blessing us in more ways that one and we could not be happier. Tulo has tapeworms (YUCK!) and so we took him to the vet yesterday to be treated. No, Butte cannot get this. It is only passed from the direct host, which we are still not sure of. Tulo does eat anything and everything and generally has a steal stomach so it is hard to say. B's birthday is on Sunday and I got him the new Silver Sun Pickups CD, which I know he will love. He has been raving about the new songs on the radio lately. We plan to just hang out during the day and spend the evening with our families over a nice meal.

That is about it for now. Hope all is well with you all! My eyes are dilated so catching up on posts tonight is not a good idea. ;)

>
So Tired.

So Exhausted.

So Sleepy.

So Emotional.

So Irritable.

So Hungry.

So Annoyed.

So so.

This is me as of late. I am napping everyday. I can't go more than 4 or 5 hours without peeing. I can't go more than an hour without eating something (BTW, thanks for all the times about eating. I am no longer counting calories and am just eating when I am hungry. I have gained 3 pounds since last Monday!! :)) I find myself snapping at B for no logical reason and he is being so loving and easy with me. I pretty much realize my bitchyness right away and apologize and he always says, "It's okay Baby. Don't worry about it." Awww...Also I cry when others cry. It does not matter if I know them or they are on TV or it is on the phone. My water works are on full blast right now. Thank you hormones!

>6 Weeks and 10 Months

>Today is a special day!

I am officially 6 weeks pregnant today! AND B and I have been married for 10 whole months!

The last 10 months has gone by so fast and even more quickly has been our honeymoon to moving to finding out we're having a baby! The last 2 months have been a whirlwind but I would not change it for the world!

According to Babycenter, our Baby Mac is starting to develop little black dots where the eyes and nose will be, indentions on the sides of the head for ears, and small nubs which will become the arms and legs! The heart is beating twice as fast as mine at 100 to 160 beats per minute and we are hoping that in two weeks we will get to hear that heart beat at our first appointment. :)

I am still feeling great. I just have to eat. One thing, mothers out there, is that I am so not eating enough! I thought I had been, but I counted my calories yesterday and barely had 1500 all day! I need at least 2000 but should be getting 2300. How the heck am I going to eat that much! I love food, but sometimes I am a little bird and just pick and eat here and there. Red meat is out of the question so I am going to make a chicken dish for dinner tonight with rice and veggies so that will hopefully put me up to where I should be after breakfast and lunch plus snacks today. I am worried though. I want to make sure I am eating enough for me and baby so should I have a protein shake for breakfast? I have lots of frozen fruit in the fridge....

B's birthday is this Sunday and he is so not a birthday person. It is just another day for him but this year he will be 25! So I am trying to be sneaky and make plans but he is really not on board with some of the ideas I have run past him. I know he will get over it and enjoy the day regardless. What a modest guy!

I have taken pictures of our apartment and will post those later tonight or tomorrow morning so look forward to that.

Have a great day! God Bless!!

Baby Mac is on the Way!

That's right! We're expecting!! We found out on May 29th and I went to the doctor on June 1st to get confirmation.

We could not be happier!! This is such a blessing. I know, I'm shocked too! It is still sinking in for both B and I but we really can't wait to be parents and start our family. Good thing we got a two bedroom apartment!

I am currently 6 weeks along and feeling pretty good. Very little to no nausea, VERY tired, sore boobs, peeing ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME, eating all the time, extra emotional (very weepy), and up until last night, sleeping well. No food aversions yet except for ground beef. It just gives me the worst stomach ache you can imagine minus nausea. I have been trying to nap every day, twice a day. Up until today, I have been good about being restful but I worked and then babysat so a nap was not in the picture at all.

We have told our family and close friends and now, blog world, I am telling you! We feel that since this baby is a gift from God that it does not hurt to have as many people praying for us and sending us well wishes.

I know it is early yet, but I am feeling great and my doctor believes that I will have a very healthy pregnancy. My due date is February 3, 2010. I am doing my best to keep anxious thoughts out of my head and find that prayer really helps minimize any stress related to that. We do have names picked out, but they will be kept a secret until Baby Mac arrives. B wants to find out the sex and I want to wait so I am not sure what we will decide about that yet.

Any more questions?? Just ask!! I hope you are all having a great weekend!

>That BIG, HUGE, AWESOME News I know You've All Been Waiting For...

>

Drumroll please....

We're Having a Baby!!

(proof (pic quality sucks), taken 5-29-09 and again 5-30-09)

We could not be happier!! This is such a blessing and we are so glad it did not take long for this dream to come true (2 months!). I know, I'm shocked too! It is still sinking in for both B and I but we really can't wait to be parents and start our family. Good thing we got a two bedroom apartment!

But please, if you have a prayer request, don't hesitate to ask! I am always here for prayer. Our families are sooooo happy and excited! My mom can't believe that she is going to be a grandmother but can't wait at the same time. Today she told me she was going to some garage sales to buy baby things for her house. How cute!!

>Settling In

>This week as flown by! Today, we finally have the internet and cable hooked up. We spent yesterday morning organizing our office and the only thing left to do is hang pictures and decorate! The best part! B has spent the last few days building a TV stand for the TV so that all of our electronics can fit underneath it. The TV is on top of the fireplace and there was no room on either side for the DVD player, Game Cube, etc.

My camera battery is charging as I type this and I hope to take pics over the weekend after we have hung some pictures and made the place look and feel more like home.

There really is nothing else to update on. This week has been busy with work and settling in here at our new home. The dogs are loving the views and fresh air from the windows. Our location is near everything and we feel so blessed to be able to live here! Have a great weekend!

>A New View

>As soon as I find my camera and charge the battery (and unpack and get rid of all the boxes and trash everywhere) I will post pics of our new home. It is perfect. We are so happy waking up with the doggies (a whole hour earlier now that they are not shielded from the sun coming up), reading by the natural light, building a TV stand, decorating, putting every single thing we have had for almost a year in the perfect spot, and sleeping with the windows open.

FRESH AIR!!

The move went really well. We were not able to rent a big truck as they were all out and so we had to use my car, B's truck, my bestie's truck and MIL's SUV. In total we made about 5 trips each way and it took all day. We even had a few things left we had to get the next day before our walk through. But overall, it was great.

Moving to the third floor was soooo not fun but is soooo worth it! I had my bro helping us and it was great to have some extra strong arms for all the heavy furnature. My lovely mother came over on Monday to help us unpack and we got a TON done. It was great! But I am soooo exhausted!! I have not hung pictures yet, but have places in mind for certain ones. I have not run our dishwasher yet, but have several dishes finding a spot in there. Did you hear that?? We have a dishwasher!! I am no longer the dishwasher!! Sure there are things I will need to hand wash but still, this is just great!!

Having a three day weekend to get settled was a HUGE blessing. I was going to bed at 9 I was so tired from the day's activities. There will be more soon, but this is it for now. I hope you are all having a great week so far!
