We Bought A Home!!

Soooo I know I've been pretty tight-lipped about our move. I discussed it with B and we both felt like we had to keep this on the DL big time. Last year we went through a lot of dissappointment trying to buy a home and being conservitive about who we told was important to us.

I'm tapping out this baby on my phone after three margs but friends, I promise to write more and share photos as soon as we have internet and the time. I've wanted to share our journey down this road countless times. I will share all the ups and downs of being a first time home buyer. In the meantime...CHEERS!! we are so happy to be in a home we have fallen in love with. We're exhausted and overjoyed. Kinda like having a baby LOL!

Currently...

Making...myself pack. I hate hate HATE packing more than almost anything. And I hate moving. I want someone else to do all that fuss for me.

Listening to...Logan's laugh. Lately, he has been all giggles (when he's not demanding something or fussing from the two new molars poking through). His laugh stops me dead in my tracks. Totally intoxicating.

Craving...broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl at Panera.

Laughing at...Zombieland. This movie tips into the lame category every so often, but I really love Woody Harelson. "Where are the twinkies?!"

Wanna link up? Harvesting Kale hosts this awesome, easy, and quick blog circus. Again, still not in the know with wordpress in adding buttons INTO posts so if anyone has some know-how, help. Please.

I'm working on a few different vacation posts. Bare with me while I get my family packed and ready to move next week. I'm still going to be vague about that so, hang tight.

about that shotty internet

It's still shotty. That being the main reason my writing has really lagged lately and honestly I am so missing meaningful posts! I am even having a hard time catching up on all of yours. I want to thank Randalin AGAIN for writing such a wonderful post. I hope to have her write for us again! Her blog and little man are just so yummy (ha! no pun intended). In the mean time if you'd like even more to read I have started another blog dedicated to all things childbirth/midwife. It is not for the fait of heart, people. So if you get a little squeamish about female-ish things or just don't care to read about those subjects then no hard feelings. For the most part, I am using it as a way to keep track of things I want to remember (much like a personal blog). But I also know there are others out there like myself who devour this subject matter. I LOVE IT! Please, if you know of anyone who might enjoy it, share and enjoy!

Home Sweet Home!

That's right friends! With the help of my brother, hubby and mom (who took Logan to the park) we are totally moved into our new home! It's a little overwhelming seeing all the boxes that need to be unpacked, the pictures that need to be hung, the clothes that need to be put away....I just keep telling myself it's a process! So as soon as we have everything in order I will post photos and get back to blogging daily. We have super sketchy internet for now until we get ours hooked up next week. Until then would anyone like to guest blog? I'd love to show you off!

Please, in the mean time, have a wonderful, safe and family-filled holiday weekend! Happy 4th!

I'll Be Back...

>Just a quick shout out that we're all still here! It's been a REALLY long, crazy, exhausting--you name it kind of weekend and it really has not slowed down yet! We have moved in with my parents and that is a HUGE adjustment. Both B and I are working this week, he leaves for Vegas tomorrow night and I head out of town on Friday. Finally on Monday we will all be able to relax! I'm visiting a few friends and that will be nice and relaxing on some level however, traveling is ALWAYS tiresome. And now it's well past my bed time. A few things to note:

  • Logan loves ice.
  • He is walking so well now he is nearly running!
  • He STILL has a cough! I cannot decide if this has anything to do with teething, which I think it does, but I hate to just assume that. However it's his only symptom. And not just a dry cough. It's rather congested and yucky.
  • Because he was sick at the beginning of the month he will not have his well baby check up for 15 months until he is just a few days shy of 16 months so I have no new stats to report.
  • Logan is UNBUCKLING his seat belt that goes across his chest! I have no idea how the kid even figured it out but he's mastered it. We've tried everything to make him stop but he won't. I called Graco and they are sending us a new clip with the hope that the clip is defective. Ugh

busy busy busy!

>Just here to mention that in the last two days I have spent nearly 4 hours cleaning the kitchen. For the first time ever I invested in SOS pads and OMG they have become my cleaning lifesaver! I have scrubbed the inside and outside of the stove, oven, and stove tops and it sparkles pretty like. Also, the microwave, outsides of cabinets and fridge are done. Tonight I plan to accomplish boxing up all of the dry foods we will not be needing until we're at my parents house (ha! more on that later), box all of our books, and scrub the bathtubs. By the time I'm finished it will be more than bed time.

I'd also like to note for more of a personal record that I took an anxiety pill tonight. I've been doing great all along until this week hit and I am a frantic, panicky mess. Bless B, he has been so much help and done everything I've asked. He is currently scrubbing mold spots off the walls in our bathroom. I'm so blessed! On that note, I feel mildly drunk so I may have to go back and check my work tomorrow.

Peace out lovies! Only a few more days until our move!

Crazy Week!

WOW! This week went by so fast. I can't believe it has already been 2 weeks since we left Cabo.

This week at work was crazy for me. My GM was fired on Monday, on the spot, without any warning. This, of course, was a major blow to all the residents and employees. She was a great GM and will be deeply missed. However, I hope and pray that the change that is coming will be exactly what we need. We are a new building with lots of flaws to work on and hopefully this will be the thing that needed to happen.

In other news, we received our beautiful wedding album. It is our wedding gift from my parents and we could not be happier! It is just beautiful and all the pictures and the layouts turned out perfect! We hope to be able to show this to as many of you as we can in the near future.

Brendan's job is going great! He was able to set a few appointments this week with some businesses in town, which will hopefully take on Aflac and make us some money!!

We are moving in T-2 weeks! We can't wait to get our heads out of the ground and into the sunshine and I know our dogs feel the same way. I have started to pack and will be having a garage sale next weekend with Patty to get rid of some things before we move. The sad part about all this is that the house is a disaster right now. I have not picked up a vacuum since before we left for Cabo and I don't intend to until we move. What is the point? I will pack and clean as I go along and that should help the entire process once it comes to the big day.

Today, we attended a memorial service for a family friend of mine from church. Lisa was the mother of three step children and two boys of her own when she left this earth the day before Mother's Day, succuming to Leukemia. The service was beautiful and I was able to see some people that I had not seen since high school.

Also, I had a meeting with my manager today, as she had asked me to meet with her a few days ago so that she could "run some ideas past me". I was so excited and could not wait to hear what she had to say. When we met, she started out by asking me what my goal(s) is here at the retirement community. I told her that I have always wanted to be involved with the activities department, as I have loved seeing the things that they do for our residents and would also love that kind of interaction with the residents. She said, "That is awesome and sounds like we are on the same wave length here." She then went on to tell me that I have been doing a great job at the desk and that she never has to worry when I am here. That was such a nice compliment, I almost cried! Then she told me that there might be some changes coming soon to the activities department and wanted my go-ahead for her to discuss some ideas she has with those folks. Those ideas being, me joining the team! This is not final, nor is it guarenteed. But it is great to know she sees potential in me and wants to help me nurture my accets and creativity. More to come on this later...and soon, I hope!

That is all for now! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Love,

Sarah and Brendan
