bad blogger/6 months

I'm a bad blogger and it is all because I get next to no sleep almost every single night. Then I go to work, do school work, come home and just about collapse as I say goodnight to my little man, nurse my babe and try to hang out with B without falling asleep!

It's not THAT bad every single day, but I have a baby who would much rather not sleep. She wakes up every 2 hours...sometimes more than that and rarely less. I think her longest stretch has been 3 hours and that is usually in the very wee hours of the morning. Regardless, I'm exhausted. And so writing is exhausting. But the term is over so I am going to try to spend more time here updating.

Evie will be 7 months old in 10 days so I think it's time for her 6 month update!

Stats:

  • 26 1/2 inches tall (28%)
  • 13.12 pounds (8%) Teeny little peanut!!
  • 2 teeth (bottom)
  • Lighter center color to her beautiful blue eyes
  • Sitting up
  • Says "Mamamama"
  • Tasting solids every so often

Loves:
  • Being held
  • Being awake
  • Dancing
  • Eating her toes
  • Bath time
  • Nursing and playing with my hair
  • Playing with Logan
  • Getting kisses from the dogs
  • Watching Logan play with the dogs
  • Watching the dogs run around
  • Her daddy (can you say SMITTIN?!)

Hates:
  • Sleeping
  • Being put into her car seat, but likes car rides
  • Laying on her tummy
  • Having anything put into her mouth for her (spoons, medicine, fingers...lol)
  • When we leave the room
  • Rolling over...she's just not into it
Fun stuff:
  • She took her first plane ride over Thanksgiving to Michigan where she also had her first ride in an RV, learned to sit up alone, and tried some mashed potatoes and turkey
  • She loves wearing headbands
  • She learned to like sleeping on me face down after spending a lot of time in the Boba

  • Her best friend is Logan
  • Her favorite toy is a tie between a pink stuffed giraff with huge eyes or her little book of babies. Oh and anything with a tag on it.

listy-lou

The last few weeks have been so stinkin crazy!! So here's a little list:

  • On Tuesday November 26th I took my state test to become a Certified Nurse Aide and I PASSED!! It was much easier than I anticipated and I did well on both the written and skills tests. SO HAPPY!! I am waiting to hear about a CNA position in the hospital for women and family (NICU, Women's Care, Peds...) so PLEASE pray and cross fingers I get an interview soon!!
  • The next day, Wednesday, we flew out to Michigan to have a quick trip and Thanksgiving holiday with B's family. It was fast, fun and exhausting but so worth it! We stayed in a 100 year old house. It was beautiful! And many members of B's family were able to meet the kids.
  • I am preparing for another craft show next Saturday--LOVE making headbands! I'm running a deal in the shop this month--click the link on the side bar to see what it is!
  • Evie learned how to sit up while we were in MI and as you ca see above, she is pretty good at it! I took this photo on Sunday night. Just a little sneak peek of many more adorable photos to come!!
  • B's art is FINALLY going up in a gallery on Friday! I am so insanely proud of him! This has been a dream since he started working on his art and wow...it's happening!

currently...

Just a little update on life with some great prompts from my favorite blog hop:

missing, reading, drinking, eating, planning

I am missing sleep. Oh, is that too obvious? Well then what I'm really missing is life before kids. This is not to say or suggest that I wish things were different because I don't. I absolutely LOVE being mother. It is and was the very first true calling I've ever had and my heart is so full because of it. What I mean is...I miss how care-free things were. People would tell me how things change with kids and I was always like, "Well yeah, but..." and I'd give some naive response as to how I was going to try to still go out dancing once a week or have a girls night at home. HA! That's just funny now.

I miss reading. Just in general. Reading something that is not for school or a how-to guide. I just started reading a book that I think may be a little life-changing. Anyone read Unplanned?? Wow....I just have no words for it right now.

I am drinking water with a side of wine every now and then. I am so glad I can enjoy a glass at night after a rough day. Tonight is one of those nights.

I am eating up my baby girl! She is just so irresistible. Every ounce of her is just growing and filling out perfectly. I have not weighed her in awhile but I'd say she is up to almost 14 pounds.

And lastly, I am planning our trip for next week. We are heading to Michigan to see family. It will be Logan's 3rd flight and Evie's first. The only thing I am worried about is traveling around a holiday. I already get anxious about travel and flying. Toss in a million more people and I should really just be sedated.

insta-life

Just a little collage of what we've been up to. I was snack mom and parent volunteer in Logan's preschool last week and we had so much fun! We made rainbow fruit on a stick with some marshmallow "clouds"! The kids loved it!

Bottom right is a photo of Evie just before we fell asleep together. She and I had a girls weekend a few weeks ago. Such a little lover!

blogging brain fart

(face time with Evie while I was in class a few weeks ago)

I am so over blogging right now, so that is why I am not really posting. I will go ahead and blame it on the fact that my almost six month old is barely sleeping at night and neither am I. It's rough. I'm exhausted. The last thing I want to do anymore is sit down and write something with some substance. AND the next 6 weeks with holidays and such are only going to be more insane. I will go ahead and apologize now for the lack of writings, but I will make up for it in pictures. Have a great week.

CNA!!!

I'm officially a CNA!! I mean, it will be truly official after I take my state test in a few weeks, but as far as class work and clinicals go...I passed and am done! You can read all about the experience on my Midwife101 blog. Enjoy!
